Busy weekend for rescue helicopter

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter had a busy start to the weekend with two callouts, which took the crew around the Bay of Plenty.

The helicopter was dispatched yesterday to Motiti Island, where a 65-year-old woman had fallen and suffered a broken arm and dislocated a shoulder.

She was flown to Tauranga Hospital for treatment.

The previous day, the Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Te Kaha to a 26-year-old male who had been involved in a motorcycle crash and received multiple injuries.

He was flown to Whakatane Hospital for treatment.
