A man has received facial injuries after shattering glass hit him in the face during an attempted burglary.

Multiple pieces of firewood has been thrown at the victim's front door causing it to smash.

Constable James Colby says police are turning to the public to help them locate the offenders.

'Hamilton Police is looking for your help in trying to ID the people in this CCTV footage. Appreciate it is not the best but it is all we have to go on at this stage.

'A vehicle has arrived and a female along with two males armed with knives have asked the victim for a guy called Dwayne and demanded he come out, these people don't know anyone called Dwayne and didn't know these people,” says James in a post on the Waikato Police Facebook page.

'One of the men has then thrown multiple pieces of firewood through the victim's front door causing it to smash, the victim has been struck in the face by one of the pieces, they have then left in a vehicle.”
