A fire in Te Puke on the corner of Palmer Place may have just been another school holiday prank or an electrical fault.

Fire were called to the scene at around 2pm yesterday after reports of a fire near an Indian Shop on Palmer Place.

A Te Puke fire warden says there was no fire by the time they got there.

'All we know at the moment is that it could have been two things, because of school holidays it could have been young people messing around lighting fires or an electrical fault in one of the shops.”
