The Bay of Plenty Cricket age group pathway has been rewarded with a considerable number of selections for various Northern Districts age group sides to compete in the next four weeks.

The next crop of rising stars in New Zealand Cricket will be on show at the National Under-18 tournament to be played at the Lincoln Oval outside Christchurch, January 18-27, 2012. Tauranga Boys' College players Tom Clout and Thomas MacRury will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best under-18 players in the country after earning selection in the ND team.

Five Bay of Plenty youngsters have been selected for the ND Under-16 side that will play in the North Island tournament to be played at Owen Delaney Park, Taupo on January 15-20.

Lakeland youngsters Jonty Keaney and Shannon McSkimming will be joined in the ND side by James Boyd, Myles Timoti and Gareth Wallace from BOP Coastland.

A challenging two days of top-level cricket against Auckland awaits the Bay of Plenty selections for the ND Senior Secondary Schoolgirls team.

Jacinta Coleman, who was one of the stars of the 2011 National Women's Development tournament, will be joined in the ND ranks by Tia Robinson.

Kate Anderson and Piki Tai will join Tia for two Twenty20 matches following the first day 50 over contest.

A further number of promising Bay of Plenty youngsters have been selected in the ND Senior and Junior Secondary School Development teams to play their Auckland counterparts.

The most promising primary players from the Bay will attend a three-day training camp in Hamilton in March 2012.
