A set of yards, a hay barn and woolshed have been installed at the Papamoa Hills Regional Park.

The Bay of Plenty Regional Council posted the updates to Facebook, with a video showing some of the new inclusions.

Papamoa Hills park ranger Mark Ray says the new infrastructure is exciting and he is pleased it is completed.

'We are looking forward to seeing the first sheep getting sheared in the new woolshed.

'It's also nice to see sheep back on to Papamoa Hills with the plan of over the next few years to have an 80 per cent sheep and 20 per cent stock.”

The BOPRC Facebook page says farming is an important management tool that facilitates the protection and conservation of cultural heritage features.

Aroha, one of the Tauranga Moana iwi representatives, says the new woolshed fits with the landscape.

'It's really fantastic.

'We have visions; we are visionaries, and we have a lot of fantastic things for the future of our community and our people here in Tauranga Moana.
