Rena Debris is being spotted as far as the Hawke's Bay with the discovery of two silver food pouches.
The Hawkes Bay Regional Council says there were reports of debris being washed up on Mahanga Beach last week from the container ship which run aground on Astrolabe Reef in October.

Council staff surveyed the entire beach late last week and found a small amount of debris from the Rena, including two silver food pouches containing soy bean and fish.
The council's compliance and pollution response manager Bryce Lawrence says he has been in touch with Braemar Howells since the discovery.
He says if members of the public find any other debris on the beach, which they suspect is from the Rena, they should contact HBRC's pollution hotline on 0800 108 838.
