Fire crews have fought a blaze a commercial building in Mount Maunganui overnight.
A fire started in a car at a factory on Aerodrome Road, says Fire and Emergency New Zealand northern communications shift manager Carren Larking.
FENZ got the call at 9.40pm and after arriving fire crews requested extra trucks to ensure the fire didn't spread to neighbouring properties, she says.
Five units attended the fire and the it was retained to the one building, says Carren.
Crews were in attendance until 12.10am, she says.
