Covid-19: 20 new cases in Auckland today

The total number of a cases in the community outbreak is now 821 - 804 are in Auckland and 17 are in Wellington.

There are 20 new cases of Covid being reported in the community today.

The Ministry of Health reports that all the of today's community cases are in Auckland.

The total number of a cases in the community outbreak is now 821 - 804 are in Auckland and 17 are in Wellington.

The Ministry of Health says 114 of the Auckland cases have recovered and three have recovered in Wellington.

"There are 40 cases in hospital. Eight in North Shore, 18 in Middlemore and 14 in Auckland.

"Six cases are in the ICU or the high dependency ward."

At 4pm this afternoon, New Zealand and Auckland will find out if the current Alert Levels will be extended.

Auckland will remain in Level 4 for at least another week.

New Zealand is in Level 3 until 11.59pm Tuesday, September 7.

This is the finest piece of official "Transparency" I have ever seen. If ALL our governing bodies were this visibly on the ball, we'd all have much more confidence in such establishments. At a time when everyone is stressed and trying to hang in there, availability of information is critical, so we can see how we are doing. I look forward to seeing "the numbers" every day and it helps to keep us going when we see the scale of work being done by others to keep us safe. Great job, and Thanks to all concerned.
