Starlink trains spotters will be praying for a clear night sky as astronomers predict Starlink G4-8 to be visible over Tauranga tonight.
The Tauranga Astronomical Society says it will visible from 9.27pm (as seen from Tauranga).
"This is 12 minutes later than was earlier published on the Heavens-Above website. EDIT: Heavens-Above have since updated the data and their timings etc are now correct," says a post on the society's Facebook page.
"Starlink will rise in the South West as it passes parallel to the West coast of New Zealand before passing high over the Coromandel at 9.31pm.

"The train will then quickly disappear into the shadow cast by the Earth.
"For observers in Tauranga, Starlink will reach a maximum altitude angle of 77 degrees, so almost straight up.
"For observers in Christchurch and South, Starlink will rise about 2 minutes earlier at about 9.25pm.
"This should be a very good pass for everyone in New Zealand to see. You might want to set a reminder alarm on your phone."
