State Highway 2 is closed in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Waka Kotahi Transport Agency says the highway is closed due to a crash affecting power lines.

The road is closed between Howell and Amokura roads in Taneatua.

"Please follow the short detour in place."

Motorists are being detoured down Howell and Amokura roads.
