Peacefully at home in Tauranga, surrounded by her family on 2 July 2022, aged 78.

A celebration of Karena's life will be held at St Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, 425 Great North Road, Henderson, Auckland on Friday 8 July 2022 at 2pm, followed by private interment. Parking available at Corban Arts Centre. The church has requested that masks are worn.
