A building on the outskirts of the village was razed by fire on June 16. See more here.

It was used as a drop in centre for Gender Dyamix and RainbowYOUTH.

A 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old man have been arrested in relation to the fire.

"The two local men have been charged with arson and are due to appear in the Tauranga District Court today," says a police spokesperson.

"The fire caused significant damage to a building on the property.

"Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident, however enquiries remain ongoing.

"Police would like to thank the public who have assisted in the investigation."

Excellent policing. Great result. Arson is normally a prison sentence so let's hope the courts dish out a proper sentence to the 2 holier than thou's.
