One person in custody after Fraser Street incident

Update, 3.30pm: One person has been taken into custody following an incident on Fraser Street.

"Police received a report of someone on the bus exhibiting anti-social behaviour," says a Police spokesperson.

"Additional information received indicated this person may also have been in possession of a firearm."

Police responded and determined there was no firearm present.

"The person was taken into custody and Police are making enquiries to understand the full circumstances of the incident," says a Police spokesperson.

Earlier 2.40pm: Reports are coming in of armed police being spotted on Fraser Street.

A SunLive reader has emailed photo showing several police units at a bus stop at the intersection of 16th Ave and Fraser Street.

"A bus appears to have been stopped by police.

"It looks like a dog unit is there, along with armed police."

SunLive is working on getting more information from police and will provide an update when we can.

are a waste of time if all we hear about are the thugs that hang around bus stops and also riding on them. Our buses are the worst case of an environmental saving I have ever seen.
