Motorists are advised that a slip on State Highway 25 between Hikuai and Whangamata has resulted in a temporary speed limit being put in place.

"Due to a slip which is partially blocking the road, traffic management is in place with a 50km per hour temporary speed limit," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson.

The traffic management applies to vehicles travelling in both directions.

Motorists are advised to pass the road hazard with care.

At this stage it is unknown when the situation will be resolved.
