Armed Police respond to Pāpāmoa firearm sighting

Two people have been arrested following a report of a suspected firearm in Pāpāmoa.

Armed Police were called to Gravatt Road about 2pm after someone sighted a person with what they believed to be a firearm near the Pāpāmoa Library.

Police attended and two young people have been arrested.

An imitation firearm has been recovered.

The two young people will undergo a youth process, says a Police spokesperson.

"Staff who attended were armed as a precaution."
