Te Puna Station Road is reported to still be closed this morning.
A post on the Te Puna Community Facebook page reports the "road is closed to all traffic, pedestrians and cyclists because of a slip along the river".
A Western Bay of Plenty District Council spokesperson reported yesterday that the northbound lane was blocked.
Council had hoped to have the road re-opened today.
"The road is closed between Waipuna Hospice and Teihana Road whilst Council's maintenance contractor clears the site," says the spokesperson.
"Clearing will take some time and the road is expected to re-open on Tuesday, November 1 under temporary traffic management.
"The cycleway has also suffered damage from an under-slip failure and will remain closed until further notice.
"We recommend that everyone avoid Te Puna Station Road and detour via Clarke Road or Te Puna Road until Te Puna Station Road is re-opened."

to close Te Puna Station Road just north of the Hospice. Traffic needing to enter SH2 can do so at the roundabout at Te Puna Rd. When this has happened previously, the traffic flow was vastly improved with reduced traffic times to the CBD.
