What's on today?

Head along to Tauranga Historic Village from 10am - 3pm for an enormous open day including street performances, live music, dancing, street food, a short film, demonstrations from artists and more with new galleries and spaces launching at Tauranga Historic Village today, all wrapped up under the title 'Hatch'. Nine new spaces that are launching in this community arts village are the Creative Community Campus,Native Designz in the Te Whare Toi o te Moana, Purple Lab / Phreaze Factory, Nape Fashion, The Villa Studios, Brook Street Studios, The White Pickett Fence Gallery, The Men's Shed Wood Box and the Light Lab - home of Nicholas Charles Photography.

Also all of the artist studios, the Village Cinema, The Jam Factory, Okorore Ngā Toi Māori Gallery and the Satellite Studios will be open for exploring and experiencing. On top of that there will be four exhibitions opening including the huge 114 Annual art buying frenzy exhibition featuring hundreds of local artists will all works only $114 .And on top of that the village will be celebrating the launch of the Tauranga Community Christmas Trees. The avenue of trees will be featuring 22 Tauranga community organisations and two local artists.

The Oempa Festival today at Soper Reserve is an authentic South African Multicultural family festival. Come and enjoy a fun-filled day with your family where everyone will be entertained from midday to evening from 1pm - 7pm. Check out the Whanau Festival in Welcome Bay today. The Army of Aunties invite you all to join them at Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Otepou School (neighbour to Faith Bible College) Saturday November 26 from 10am-3pm. Parking will be sign-posted and available on Faith Bible College grounds. This free event includes music, fun, food and entertainment. Kapa haka and Kaupapa stalls - come and experience it all!

The One Hundred Tigers exhibition is happening this weekend in the Village Hall at Tauranga Historic Village. A stunning array of banners is on display, giving the public an exciting and colourful glimpse into traditional Chinese folk art and symbolising 2022, the Year of the Tiger. Admission to the ‘One Hundred Tigers' exhibition is free, from 10am-4pm on this weekend, November 26-27 at the Village Hall, Tauranga Historic Village.
