Nine people have been arrested after police executed a number of search warrants in relation to two aggravated robberies.

Police arrested three youths in relation to an aggravated robbery of a service station on Avalon Drive on Wednesday morning.

All three offenders have been charged with aggravated robbery and were scheduled to appear in the Hamilton Youth Court yesterday, says Waikato District Commander Superintendent Bruce Bird.

One of the youths has also been charged with burglary in relation to a ram-raid of a liquor store on Sandwich Road on December 19, says Bruce..

A 39-year-old man has been charged with aggravated robbery in relation to an incident at a bar in Hamilton East on December 15.

He will appear in Hamilton District Court today.

Enquiries into this incident are ongoing and further arrests may be mad, says Bruce.

During the execution of the search warrants, a 43-year-old woman was arrested for obstruction, and a 39-year-old man was arrested on previous warrants and previous unlawful-taking charges.

He is due to appear in Hamilton District Court today.

Three youth offenders wanted for breaching bail conditions were also located and were scheduled to appear in the Hamilton Youth Court on Wednesday.

Police also recovered two stolen vehicles which were recently used in criminal offending.

'Earlier this week, I gave a commitment that we would be throwing the kitchen sink at efforts to hold people to account, and news of these arrests today is proof of that.

'We will not stop working to identify, locate, and deal with offenders in our community that cause an incredible amount of distress and harm.

'Police acknowledge that the recent crime in the Waikato region is unsettling to our community but want to reassure the public that we will continue to work hard to hold offenders to account.

'We will continue to maintain a visible presence in retail areas and will task additional staff to our investigation efforts.

'Police thank the public for their cooperation and support in ensuring our communities be safe and feel safe.

'Police would also like to remind the public to call 111 immediately if you see any suspicious behaviour.”

Time to vote out Labour and to bring in National and Act......along with some meaningful laws and punishment. We are seeing more and more scumbags out on the streets instead of locked up inside military run prisons and boot camps. Labour has completely lost the plot when it comes to law and order. Enough is enough!!

Well Done Police

Based on previous comments that Ram raids are the fault of Labour policies, one would assume this would be a great result based on Labour policies. Or does the blame only go one way? Lets get real: Police catch criminals not Governments.

So what

Lots of media stories when criminals get ‘nabbed’. Very few about the outcome. I would say Court case but very often they don’t even see a Court. Too frightening for them, so off to a comfy suite for a chat, say sorry and away they go. Being ‘nabbed’ means absolutely nothing to me. Or them.

Time for praise!

We are seeing more and more scumbags getting caught under Labour. In contrast, National loses the plot regarding law and order by tightening nooses in all the wrong places with crazed suggestions, such as military prisons and boot camps. Time to keep Labour in and National on the outer.

Incorrect. Recorded Crime reduced by 22% between 2009 and 2015 (under National). It has been ‘stable’ since 2015 (mostly under Labour). What has reduced dramatically under Labour is the number of people convicted and/or imprisoned, i.e. they don’t solve as much now or pursue convictions in Court, and fewer go to prison. Both of which has not reduced recorded crime since Labour came in, so proves being soft does not work. Kudos for having the misguided loyalty to publicly support the unsupportable actions of the Labour Government. I think Slim Shady has closed this particular argument. Don't start me on the death of Democracy and all the secret deals and sudden Law changes they have implemented. They are about as transparent as a blind man looking in a darkened room for a black cat, that isn't there...
