A slip has closed State Highway 25A Hikuai to Kopu.

"Due to a slip on SH25A the road is blocked between Hikuai and Kopu," says a Waka Kotahi NZTA spokesperson.

"Contractors are on scene."

Motorists are advised to follow directions of emergency services and consider delaying travel.

Coromandel's CFM is reporting that SH25 Coromandel to Te Rerenga is open but continues to have the 30 km per hour temporary speed limit around the area of the slip.

SH25 Tairua to Hikuai, Port Charles Wharf Rd, and The 309 Road is also open.

"We are also aware that water is still across the road at Dalmeny Corner but cars are able to pass carefully through this area," says a Coromandel's CFM spokesperson.

Kauaeranga Valley Rd is closed at the ford (9km from start of the road) due to flood levels.

Colville Rd remains closed due to another slip 6km from Driving Creek Rd just past Koputauaki Bay. There is also a large tree blocking the road at 12km just past Amodeo Bay. The closure is expected to remain in place most of the day.

Hikuai Settlement Rd is open but beware of surface flooding, says Coromandel's CFM.
