Roading contractors are continuing to clean-up the state highways following Cyclone Gabrielle tearing through New Zealand.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has provided some photos of the impact Cyclone Gabrielle has had across state highways.
"The first and second pictures are of State Highway 25 through Thames, the third of SH25 north of Tararu, and the fourth of SH2 in Matata in the Bay of Plenty," reads on a post on the agency's Facebook page.
"Conditions remain hazardous on many roads which remain open, and several state highways are closed as you can see - due to downed trees, slips, and flooding.
"Local roads are affected too. If you're in the upper North Island, stay home unless it's absolutely necessary to travel.
"If you have to travel, watch out for flooding, slips, rock and tree falls, and other hazards. Check road and weather conditions on our website: www.journeys.nzta.govt.nz."
"Our website is updated 24/7 with the latest information on state highway closures and disruptions."
