Many Bethlehem homes are being powered by a generator after a slip took out a power line on Cambridge Road yesterday evening.
The road is currently closed between Wakefield Drive and St Andrews Drive.
Workers at the scene say they hope to have power restored to the lines by the end of the day, and the road will later be worked on by the city council.
"We're not sure how stable the road currently is," says a worker at the scene.

Tauranga City Council says the road will remain closed today, while PowerCo works on site to "assess and secure" the affected powerlines.
The council is also aiming to complete a more detailed assessment of the slip with a geotechnical engineer today, which will give them an idea on when the road can safely reopen.
"We hope to provide an update on the status of the slip after the assessments are completed and the powerlines secured."

One really needs to admire the emergency services for the great job they do restoring services to the public. Come rain, hail or snow they are out there working for you. THANKYOU
