Police say the death of Steven Taiatini likely involved a burnt-out silver Holden Colorado 4x4.

"Mr Taiatini sustained fatal injuries which are consistent with having been hit by a vehicle," says Police Detective Inspector Lew Warner.

"Mr Taiatini died following an incident on Saint John Street in Ōpōtiki on Friday, June 9.

"Police are again appealing for anyone with information about Mr Taiatini's death, no matter how insignificant they think it might be, to come forward and speak to Police.

"We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who saw a silver Holden Colorado 4x4 in the Ōpōtiki area on the evening of 9 June.

"We know there were several people who saw what occurred and know what happened on the night Steven died, and we urge them to come forward.

"Information can be shared via 105 – either by calling or online at https://www.police.govt.nz/use-105 ‘Update Report' and reference file number 230610/2652.

It is the time for 'talking'

because otherwise innocent people who have no connection whatsoever to any 'gang' will be harmed or worse. Secondly, apart from innocent people being harmed, these gang members are only going to continue to harm/kill each other. If adults want to effectively CHOOSE this path then they need to think about their OWN family members grief, pain as well. Grow up, stop the endless, brainless 'fighting'. It's pathetic. No mana in any of it. Stop the violence (of all kinds), stop the drugging. Grow up. Some of you are middle-aged people. It's making you look pathetic.
