SPEED

I travel over the kaimai ranges to hamilton and back toTauranga reasonably frequently. I ALWAYS drive to the conditions and within the speed limit. Just about 98% of vehicles pass me. All the TV advertising by the Transport Department pushing speeds and driving is not going to have any affect on most drivers. I see many dangerous manoeuvers. Police can't be everywhere but dash cams are. If drivers were rewarded for supplying dashcam footage to the department leading to a dangerous driving conviction then people might take note. Most vehicles have a dash cam. The reward could be a fuel voucher. That idea would be much much cheaper than having thousands of police on the road.
