Police have arrested a man for failing to remain stopped in Tauranga after he fled from police last night

Staff stopped a vehicle travelling on Ocean Beach Road, Mount Maunganui around 11pm last night and attempted to search the vehicle when the driver became aggressive and OC spray was used.

The man allegedly drove away from the scene and a pursuit was not initiated.

He was subsequently located and is due to appear in Tauranga District Court tomorrow on charges of failing to remain stopped for a Police officer.
