A power outage is affecting nearly 100 properties at Omanu following a vehicle crashing into a power pole in the area.

Police received a report of a single vehicle crash into a power pole at the intersection of Ocean Beach Rd and Golf Road, Mount Maunganui, around 10.20am.

"There were no reports of injury to the occupants but traffic management was put in place at the scene as the powerline was across the road," says a police spokesperson.

Contractors are attending the scene to fix the power lines.

Powerco is reporting there are currently 88 properties affected by the outage.

Power is reported as going off at 10.18am.

The estimated restoration time is 7pm.
