A police operation is being reported in the Lower Kaimai area.

SunLive readers have reached out saying police have been spotted at a number of different locations around McLaren Falls Road.

Traffic appears to be flowing in the area.

A police spokesperson says they were notified of a vehicle theft on the bridge on McLaren Falls Road at 8.31am

"Police are making enquiries."
