Ram raid in Otūmoetai

Construction contractors are repairing damage to the entrance of Liquorland Otūmoetai in Bureta, Tauranga, following a ram raid and burglary at the premises early on Thursday morning.

"Police responded to reports of a burglary at a commercial premises on Bureta Road shortly before 4am this morning," says a Police spokesperson.

"A forensic examination was completed and enquiries are ongoing to locate those involved.

"The offending vehicle has been located, with no occupants."

Two sliding doors, glass and framing around the doors were damaged in the entrance of Liquorland Otūmoetai.

The retail outlet is closed on Thursday while repairs are made.
