Aged 90 - died 6 March 2024 at Malyon House peacefully.

Dr. Fred Martin devoted his life to helping others, whether his patients, or connections through church. He delivered hundreds of Tauranga babies and spent many thousands of hours making home visits to those who could not make it to his general practice on Chadwick Road. 

Fred graduated from Otago Medical School in December 1959, and two days later married his wife, Lois. They were married for 56 years until Lois died in 2015. They spent their adult lives in Tauranga, raising five children (Merrill (who died in 1982), Lewis, Melody, Joylynne and Jonathan). Fred is survived by his children, three brothers and two sisters, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Fred enjoyed church fellowship, playing the violin, travelling with Lois in their campervan, repairing things in his garage (with mixed results!) and spending time with his family.
