UPDATE: Multiple people have been injured after two crashes along a Bay of Plenty highway.
The first crash was reported to emergency services just after 7.30am on State Highway 38 near Wai-Iro-Hia Rd, and police said the road was blocked.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson says two people with serious injuries are being taken to Rotorua Hospital.
A single-vehicle crash was reported on SH38, Kaingaroa, near Wairapukao Rd, about 2km west of the first crash, around 8.20am, a police spokesman said.
One person with moderate injuries was being taken to Rotorua Hospital.

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash on State Highway 38 at Kaingaroa in the Bay of Plenty.
A police spokesperson says the crash is reported near Wai-Iro-Hia Rd just after 7.30am.
“One person has sustained serious injuries, with another person sustaining moderate injuries.
“The road is currently blocked”.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson says an ambulance and rapid response vehicle has been sent to the scene.
