UPDATE: Traffic is expected to clear following a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 29A, near Poike.
Emergency services were called to the crash, between the Poike and Oropi roundabouts, just before 7am.
A police spokesperson says one person received what appears to be minor injuries.
The crash was blocking the westbound lane of the highway.
In a traffic alert, NZTA says the crash scene is now clear.
People are advised to allow extra time as traffuc delays slowly ease.

Traffic is reportedly backed-up on State Highway 29A, near Poike, following a crash.
A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says three vehicles have crashed on SH29A, between Poike and Oropi.
The lane heading towards the Oropi roundabout is blocked, says the caller.
"Emergency services are at the scene and people should expect delays.
A police spokesperson says they were called to what appears to be a three-vehicle crash just before 7am.
"One person has received injuries, looks to be minor at this stage.
"One lane is blocked, and contractors have been called to tow the vehicles."
