ND Primary – Day two

BOP Coastland made up for the disappointment of their first up defeat when they bounced back to post a ten wicket win, on day two of the ND Primary tournament be played in Hamilton.

Waikato Valley South batted first and set the Bay side a medium sized target when they reached 152/7.


However the Coastland side cruised to victory without losing a wicket.

Josh Earle was there at the end on 62 not out, with fellow Coastland opening batsmen Sean Dykes posting an undefeated 59 runs.

BOP Lakeland master blaster Hayze Perham continued his attack on the opposition bowlers, with a century against Counties Manukau.

The young Rotorua batsman blasted his way to 101 runs, which has taken his total in four rounds of the 2012 tournament to 235 runs.

The Bay team were in real trouble at 4/40, before Hayze came to the crease from where the Lakeland batsmen went on to post 252/8.

The match went late into the afternoon with Counties Manukau making a determined bid for victory. However a five wicket bag from Lakeland skipper Dilan Nanayakkara, saw Counties removed some 14 runs short of victory.
