The Aerocool Rescue Helicopter carried out 64 life-saving missions within the Coastal Bay of Plenty region over the month of October, which is 20 more than those undertaken in September.
These missions included 33 inter-hospital transfers, 8 medical events, 6 rural/farm incidents, 6 motor vehicle accidents, and 11 miscellaneous missions.
The Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was most often seen at Tauranga Hospital with 13 inter-hospital transfers, Whakatāne Hospital with 8 inter-hospital transfers, and Rotorua Hospital with 5 inter-hospital transfers.
In addition, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter crew were required in Matakana Island, Motiti Island, Waihau Bay, and many other remote and challenging locations to provide life-saving care in time-critical situations.
The month began with the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter being dispatched to Tauranga Hospital for a male who was experiencing a medical event.
The patient was flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, October 2nd, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Matakana Island for a patient who was experiencing a serious medical event.
The patient was transported to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
On Friday morning, October 4th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Waioeka Gorge for a male and a female who both sustained injuries after being involved in a motor vehicle accident.
The patients were flown to Whakatāne Hospital for further treatment.
On Friday evening, October 4th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Opotiki Airfield for a female who sustained leg injuries after a fall.
The patient was flown to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, October 5th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was tasked to White Pine Bush for a female who was experiencing a serious medical emergency.
The patient was flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
On Monday afternoon, October 7th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Ruatoria for a patient that sustained injuries after being involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA).
The patient was transported to Gisborne Hospital for further treatment.
On Thursday afternoon, October 10th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Tauranga Hospital for a female who was experiencing a serious medical event.
The patient was flown to Starship Hospital for further treatment.
On Friday evening, October 11th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Paengaroa for a female who sustained serious injuries after being in a motor vehicle accident.
The patient was flown to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
On Monday afternoon, October 14th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Whangamata for a female who was experiencing a serious medical event.
The patient was flown to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
On Wednesday morning, October 16th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Te Kaha Medical Centre for a female who was experiencing a serious medical event.
The patient was transported to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, October 19th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Tauranga Hospital for a male who sustained injuries after a fall.
The patient was flown to Middlemore Hospital for further treatment.
On Sunday afternoon, October 20th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Papamoa for a male who was experiencing a serious medical event.
The patient was transported to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.

On Sunday afternoon, October 27th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Murupara for a male who sustained fracture injuries to his leg after falling from a motorbike while riding.
The patient was treated on scene by the onboard Critical Care Flight Paramedic before being transported to Rotorua Hospital for further treatment.
On Monday morning, October 28th, the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Matakana Island for a female who was experiencing a serious medical event.
The patient was treated on scene by the onboard Critical Care Flight Paramedic before being transported to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
The month ended with the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter being dispatched to Tokoroa Hospital for a male who was in critical condition.
The patient was transported to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
