One patient in moderate condition is currently being transported to Tauranga Hospital.

Reports are coming in of a serious crash in the Western Bay of Plenty.

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says it appears two vehicles have crashed on Oropi Rd, near the intersection of Nga Parae Rd and Castles Rd.

A police spokesperson said the crash was reported to them at 2.15pm.

“Looks like one person has been seriously injured, and the road is blocked currently.”
