People are being asked to postpone travelling along State Highway 25a following a fatal crash.
A section of SH25 is closed following a fatal crash earlier today.
The road is expected to be closed for some time and no detour route is available.
Traffic is building up on SH25a Coromandel Peninsula due to the fatal crash, said a police spokesperson.
"Motorists are asked to avoid travelling in the next few hours on SH25a due to the current 90 minute delay on this route.
"The delay is between Kopu and Tairua and motorists are asked to postpone their travel if possible as SH25 is still not re-opened after the crash."

SH25 is CLOSED between Te Puru and Tapu. Those wishing to travel past the closure should either delay your journey or consider SH25A as an alternate route. ^EH https://t.co/qC2Ejchb42
