Two of the world’s best all-rounders are set to face off in the Dream11 Super Smash on New Year's Day as the Wellington Blaze make the trip north to take on the Northern Brave women's team at Seddon Park starting at 12.40pm tomorrow.
Australian international Perry has joined the Blaze for their opening two rounds of fixtures, searching for valuable game time before she returns home to play in The Women’s Ashes series in January.
Sri Lankan superstar Chamari Athapaththu has returned to the Brave, having featured prominently in the side's record-breaking run to the Elimination Final last season.
In 9 matches, Athapaththu scored 221 runs at an average of 25 and a strike rate of 128, with a top score of 58.
With the ball, she returned nine wickets with her off-spin, regularly trusted with key powerplay overs.
White Ferns Melie Kerr, Jess Kerr and Sophie Devine will also make the trip to Hamilton in a strong Blaze outfit, whilst Amanda-Jade Wellington gives the Brave (W) more international experience to call on in a strong home spin attack.
The Brave (M) have named an unchanged side following their opening round washout against the Auckland Aces.
Fergus Lellman, Ben Pomare and Josh Brown are all set to make their T20 debuts, whilst Robbie O’Donnell will make his Brave T20 debut after moving down from the Aces over the winter.
The match for the Northern Brave men's team versus Wellington Firebirds will start at 4.25pm.
