One person is in critical conditon following a crash in Tauranga.

A cyclist was transported to the hospital following a collision with a vehicle near the intersection of Glenorchy Place and Merriman Place, Pyes Pa.

Emergency services were notified at 7.50am and the Serious Crash Unit has been notified, a Police spokesperson said.

Hato Hone St John arrived at the crash at 7.51am, a spokesperson said.

“One ambulance, one operations manager, and one rapid response unit attended.”

The patient was transported to Tauranga Hospital.
