New World Gate Pa is giving back to customers while raising money for charity.
On February 5, from 11.30am-3pm, the store will be holding a Waitangi Eve event in the hope of raising a few thousand dollars for its chosen charity.
Staff are participating in the Move Your Butt for Bowel Cancer challenge to walk 100km throughout February.
The fundraising event will include a sausage sizzle from 11.30am-3pm, sales, prizes and giveaways, and for every $150 spent in-store on the day, customers will receive a $10 voucher.
There will also be many tasters, including biscuits, coffee, yoghurt, beer, wine, juice, seafood and items from the deli.
Kaimai Eggs' beautiful 1930s truck will be parked outside the store, offering $2 off a pack of eggs.
The staff will be dressed in Kiwiana-themed outfits inspired by Waitangi in celebration of the national holiday.
There will be a prize draw where the winner can receive “the most beautiful framed mini korowai”, said New World Gate Pa owner and operator Chris Hart.

According to the Move Your Butt for Bowel Cancer campaign website, more than 100 Kiwis die every month due to bowel cancer, hence the 100km in one month.
Hart said 12 staff members are participating in the challenge including himself.
