Students display kapa haka talents

Students from 30 Western Bay of Plenty schools are unwinding today after participating in the the 2009 ASB Ra Whakangahau kapa haka festival over the last two days.
Principal Tui Yeager says the festival is a non-competitive event that focuses on the entertainment and cultural aspects of kapa haka.

'It's a great opportunity for the kids to get up on stage and take part in Maori culture and be proud that they can learn about kaupapa Maori through the songs,” says Tui.
Below is a selection of pictures from the event taken by Jacki Key.
