Magic dance for rain

The Bay of Plenty Waikato Magic had plenty to dance about at yesterday's launch of the 2013 netball season after winning three pre-season games ahead of the ANZ Championship.

At the Kia Bay of Plenty Waikato Magic launch held at Trinity Wharf yesterday More FM Breakfast announcers Bel and Brendon invited the girls to dance a rain dance with them.

'We thought it would be a bit of fun and might be worth a shot since most of the country is in drought and it worked. It rained overnight in Bay of Plenty.”

The 14-strong squad has won all three pre-season matches against the Northern Mystics, Central Pulse and the Australian Institute of Sport and Coach Noeline Taurua says there is nothing holding them back from winning the championship title for the second time in a row.

'It's very exciting. I sort of feel that we're freed. I just think we're free we can choose whatever product we want to put out on court and just go for it there's nothing holding us back.

'I would like to think we're going to be very prepared. But we also know that it's a big season and a very long season.

'We're not going to be outstanding then but hopefully we should be very tidy.”
