Social clubs, friends and family alike are being encouraged to loosen up their bowling action as twilight social bowls rolls into action for another summer season.

Hosted by Tauranga Bowling Club at the Tauranga Domain, the six-week long event held every Friday evening, sees teams of three compete in some light hearted entertainment and welcome in the weekend.

Tauranga Bowling Club is hosting their annual social twilight bowls league.

Entries are currently open to the first 32 teams, at $90 per team or $5 per player per week, and no bowling experience needed.

With the bowling club providing the bowls teams can turn up on the evening and mix and match their playing group from the previous week – only one affiliated regular bowler is allowed per team.

Casual dress including sport shoes or jandals is accepted while bowling club members will be on hand with coaching tips and assistance about the finer arts of the sport from 5.15pm with the first ball rolled at 6pm.

Friday Twilight Social Bowls runs from November 1 to December 6.
