Knights speed duo return

With an opening HRV Cup win under their belts the Northern Knights welcome back Blackcaps Tim Southee and Trent Boult for this weeks double header clash at Seddon Park.

The pair's availability allows Knights coach James Pamment to name a strong line-up that also includes fellow internationals BJ Watling, Ish Sodhi and a recovering Daniel Vettori.

Blackcap and Northern Knights bowler Trent Boult in action.

Boult returns from a muscle tear in his back suffered during the second test against England at Headingley in July while Southee makes his way back to domestic level after undergoing surgery for an ankle problem in the same month.

Boult's return sees him link up with brother Jono and Daniel Flynn as the Bay of Plenty contingent in the side.

The Knights opened their T20 account in style last week with their two Australian imports and Flynn starring in the nine run victory against the Otago Volts – ending the Volts' year-long run of domestic HRV Twenty20 wins.

The Knights also won the battle between these two sides at the beginning of last season - the last team to beat the Volts in New Zealand.

And the Knights attack will need to be at its best to keep in check the explosive Jesse Ryder in Friday night's rematch against the Volts, as well as the Central Stags' Ross Taylor on Saturday night.

The double header will also give the fans a chance to see Australian inclusions Ben Laughlin and Daniel Harris who performed so strongly in the first up win against the Volts.

Northern Knights squad for November 15 and 16:

Daniel Flynn – Bay of Plenty

Jono Boult – Bay of Plenty

Trent Boult – Bay of Plenty

Daniel Harris – Overseas player

Scott Kuggelijn – Hamilton

Ben Laughlin – Overseas player

Ish Sodhi – Counties Manukau

Tim Southee – Northland

Scott Styris – Waikato Valley

Daniel Vettori – Hamilton

BJ Watling – Hamilton
