T20 finals this Saturday

Two Western Bay teams will lift aloft the first pieces of WBOPCA silverware on Saturday afternoon after the conclusion of the 2014 Reserve and B Grade T20 championships.

The winner of the Reserve Grade smash and bash will be the side that is first past the post in the two week quickfire hit-out.

Teams will battle it out in the T20 finals this weekend.

Going into the last two rounds, Mount Maunganui and Te Puke - who have turned around their first half of the season form - lead the way with the maximum eight points.

In the early afternoon action Mount Maunganui who are the defending Reserve Grade T20 titleholders will square off against Katikati with Te Puke meeting long time rivals Cadets.

Tauranga Boys' College and Greerton will round out the round three skirmishes.

While Mount Maunganui will be expected to be Greerton in the final round Te Puke could have a real battle on their hands with Katikati who are the current Baywide Reserve champions.

Tauranga Boys' will finish the T20 competition with a match against Cadets.

The surprise package of the B Grade T20 competition is the Western Bay Invitation team who have drawn their players from the local Western Bay of Plenty first XI's.

The students who are playing in the T20 competition by invitation sit astride the top of the points table with Mount Masters and Cadets.

While the Western Bay Invitation team have already qualified for the final from their side of the draw, the other finalist will come from a sudden death encounter between Mount Masters and Cadets.
