The day will include physical testing, coaching stations, a nutrition seminar and other guest speakers.

Earlier this year the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union announced its intentions to have to women's side return to the National Provincial Championship after last fielding a team in 2005.

Bay of Plenty Volcanix coach Pere Paul is really excited about returning to the top division in New Zealand women's rugby and urges all Bay of Plenty supporters to get out and support the side.

'I'm pleased with the talent selected for the wider squad which also contains nine secondary school girls from the successful 2013 squad and will be vying for a place in the final squad,” says Paul.

'Our management and resource coaching team includes ex All Black Hika Reid and ex Black Fern Victoria Grant, who will bring a wealth of experience to our campaign.”

Bay of Plenty Rugby Union is holding a fundraising auction to help get the side team back on the national stage, with $25,000 needed to be raised to cover the cost of entry, gear, travel and accommodation throughout the seven week competition.

The auction was postponed, and a new date will be released soon, likely to be the end of next month.
