BOP Coastland have notched up their third straight win at the ND Primary Cricket tournament, thanks to a big score on the board against the Hamilton Invitation team.

Led by a majestic innings of 97 from Taylor Bettelhiem, the Bay of Plenty side posted a large target reaching 223/4.

Coming in at three, Bettelhiem was in sublime touch reaching his big score from just 113 balls with five boundaries in his innings. Another Coastland batsman to impress was Fergus Lellman, cruising to 45 before dismissal.

A concerted Coastlands bowling attack paid dividends, with the opposition restricted to 131/8, to give the Bay side an easy win.

Braxton Fisher was the pick of the Coastland bowlers taking three wickets for 25 runs, with James Gatenby-Hinton returning 2/6. Bettelhiem, Finn Dempsey and Tim Pringle all took a wicket apiece.

In contrasting fashion the BOP Lakeland team had a short and sharp visit to the batting crease against Northland.

Batting first the Lakeland side were removed for just 68, with the teams highest score of 14 telling the tale of lack of partnerships.

However the Bay side's bowlers made some inroads into the Northland batting attack, taking four wickets, as the team from the far north got home for the victory.

Harrison Hill was the pick of the Bay bowlers taking two wickets.

BOP Coastland finished the ND tournament with three straight victories and four wins from five games to head the standings at the 2014 ND Primary competition.

BOP Lakeland won two and lost three in the season tournament.
