Tauranga City Council is holding a by-election in April for one at large position on council.
Nominations for candidates in the upcoming by-election are now open. Nominations close at noon on Monday, March 5. Prospective candidates are urged not to leave it until the last minute.
To find out more about the role of the council and what it's like to be a city councillor, the council is holding a candidate information session on Monday, February 19 from 5.30pm in council chambers at 91 Willow Street. No pre-registration is required and prospective candidates are welcome to turn up on the day.
Don't forget to enrol, you need to be enrolled to vote. If you own a property in Tauranga but live outside of the area you are also eligible to vote www.elections.org.nz.

i did but people of Tauranga want a dysfunctional TCC and if the people had vote correctly then this would not have happened

Here is your chance to stand for election and represent Maori. Give up whinging and whining like you always do and put your name in the hat...... I bet you dont... its much easier to sit and whinge ah...!
