What’s on? Marathons, expos and an official launch

Good morning SunLive readers, welcome to Saturday and what a stunner of a day it is.

We've been blessed with another beautiful sunny day and MetService says it's meant to stick around too! Other than some morning and evening cloud, you can enjoy it through until Monday.

A gorgeous high of about 17 is forecast for today with 16 degrees taking you through until the middle of next week.

I always love this time of year because, spoiler alert, there's only a few days left until my birthday and I always find when it rolls around, so too does that warmer spring weather and of course after spring comes summer - so I find the rest of the year just keeps on getting better.

I'm jumping ahead of myself though, focusing on this weekend, the good times are well and true.

There's a myriad of cool events on today and SunLive photographer Nikki South will be out there snapping the best of them - so if you see her out there (she'll be the one with the camera) make sure to smile and wave.

Over at the beach is the Mount Maunganui Half Marathon - there's a couple road closures you need to know about and make sure you keep up to date with SunLive to figure all of them out.

The event kicked off at 8.30am and starts all the way over there at Simpson Reserve Papamoa, ending at Mount Main Beach.

It's bound to be a good watch so even if you don't know anyone make sure you get out there and cheer them on - I know from experience it's not easy and a cheering audience actually makes all the difference to your motivation levels.

Then a little closer to the CBD, is the official opening of Our Place.

SunLive got a teaser of just some of the magic behind those colourful shipping containers last month, during the inaugural Tauranga Coffee Festival - and now if you missed out, they're officially open for business so you can stroll round at any time.

The event begins at 10am and make sure you take an empty stomach with you when you show up, because I hear there are a bunch of the tastiest food vendors inside for you to enjoy.

Then of course at ASB BayPark it's the Women's LifeStyle Expo. I saw a teaser of what's to expect this weekend through a post on my Facebook feed and it looks like it's one not to miss - with loads of beauty, lifestyle, homeware, fashion and food exhibitions to keep you busy for the rest of the day.

Along with all of these events there are also a bunch of others, so make sure to check them out in the calendar below:
