Surf life saving comp heats up

Saturday competition in the Lion Foundation Surf League at Mount Maunganui Main Beach has seen some podium finishes for some of the Bay of Plenty team.

Bay of Plenty's Kodi Harman came first in the men's beach sprint this morning, followed by Auckland's Vaughan Roberts.

These results follow a strong first two days of events for the Bay team in which its under-14 and under-16 boy and girl competitors lined up against the best junior surf life savers in the country.

More adult competitions will take place on Sunday.
