Children across the country are being encouraged to get creative and come up with their very best ‘thank you note' for the New Zealand Police.
While most of New Zealand is in the safety of their ‘bubbles' during lockdown, the New Zealand Police are out in the community making sure New Zealanders are staying safe and healthy.
Children across the country can let their imaginations run wild in their drawings and send them to thankyou@bluelight.co.nz or upload them to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #thankyouNZpolice. You can also post the drawings directly to Blue Light's Facebook page, wwww.facebook.com/nzbluelight.
Blue Light, a registered charity that works closely with the police to implement programs and activities for youth, is the driving force behind the ‘thank you notes' initiative.
Blue Light will share the drawings with New Zealand Police and across its own Facebook page late next week to bring a smile to police officers and lift their spirits after four weeks of lockdown.
Rod Bell, CEO of Blue Light says they've seen some wonderful drawings come through already and we can't wait to see more.
'Now more than ever, as the challenges of living in lockdown become more apparent, we have to work together to stay positive and inject a bit of fun into what has been a very tough road for most people.
'We want to brighten the days of our police and make sure they know how much we appreciate all of their hard work to keep everyone safe and healthy."
