Police say part of Pyes Pa Road will be closed later tonight for the removal of a truck and trailer involved in a motor vehicle accident earlier today.

A high-sided truck went down a bank on Pyes Pa Road shortly before midday.

An eyewitness tells SunLive the accident happened just past Pyes Pa School, before the bridge, and the vehicle involved is now partially in the Tautau River.

'The road wasn't blocked but traffic was managed for a time,” says a police spokesperson.

'The road's expected to be closed later on tonight for a time when the truck's removed but we do not yet have a time for that.”

Police state two occupants in the vehicle suffered some minor injuries.
