The incident unfolded on Tuesday. File photo/SunLive.

One man is facing an obstruction charge following a police operation in Te Puke.

Footage of the arrest shows plain-clothes officers with side-carry handguns walking the man to a patrol car in handcuffs.

It is also alleged he is involved in New Zealand's far-right movement in Te Puke, but this has not been confirmed by police.

A police spokesperson says officers executed a search warrant at an address on Number 2 Road on Tuesday morning.

During the operation, a 39-year-old man refused to leave the premises and was arrested.

He is due to appear in the Tauranga District court on April 4.

He has been charged with obstructing police, but police say other charges are under consideration.
